I remember the many trips to the Saturday night dances in Fitzwilliam, NH in the early to mid 1970's. The dances were great, but the ride home in Ernie Spence's station wagon was always a blast because you would play your guitar or banjo and we'd all sing along.
Every time I hear "Ramblin' Boy" I think of you. I loved dancing with you—you were always so full of fun, mischief, and joy! I remember when you made the transition from the dance floor to the stage—I was so proud of you!
I also have many fond memories of the jam sessions we had at Mike Rose's house on Sunday afternoons—you inspired me to learn how to play the banjo, recorder (soprano and alto), and how to do calligraphy. I am glad that I have been able to reconnect with you virtually after all these years and to get to know you as Kate. It was wonderful to see and hear all the tributes to you this afternoon— congratulations on this well-deserved honor!
