Thanks to the Massachusetts Cultural Council for their generous support.
The Chuck Ward Fund was established in 2007 in collaboration with the Bay Area Country Dance Society (BACDS) to celebrate Chuck and his impact on English country dance music across the US. Known for his playfulness, puns, and love of tricks, Chuck was an accomplished pianist, accordionist, and organist. He played in dance halls from coast to coast and founded the English Country Dance Society of San Francisco (now BACDS).
Just as Chuck reached out to his fellow musicians throughout his career, the Ward Fund supports the development of English country dance musicians at all levels. The funds may be applied to music workshops and other training programs for ECD musicians.
In 2009, Chuck received the CDSS Lifetime Contribution Award. Read more about Chuck and his impact here.
